So, I have been thinking... The funny thing is I think about many things/ideas/experiences that never reach the light of day. My mind swirls, but it's rare that any of the substantive material finds its way out. The list of reasons for this is exhaustive, but one thing I know for sure is that I have always felt more understood when I put pen to paper or fingers to a keyboard. Writing is cathartic for me. I am often the one who listens, but I have much to say. I am often the one who will pass the mic to others, yet I'd like to hold onto it to have deep conversations that connect my heart to yours; however, with little control of those situations, I grew up feeling safer taking my thoughts to the page. The blank sheet wasn't going to judge me, talk over me, pick apart my thoughts, or dismiss me. It always created space for me to just be and feel and to complete a full thought without interruption.
